Which areas of the UK do you cover?

We currently operate across Central England, regularly delivering workshops to schools in Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Birmingham, Coventry, Northampton, Peterborough and Lincoln.

We can also occasionally extend as far as Sheffield, Stoke-on-Trent, North Oxfordshire, Milton Keynes and Cambridge. If in doubt, please feel free to contact us for further clarification.

What exactly is involved in the day?

Delivered by an experienced explorer, each workshop is a combination of fun, educational activities and lighthearted, interactive presentations (full of facts, stories, photos and videos). Pupils spend the day working their way through an activity booklet, essentially covering their entire topic in a single day.

We also include a session where we get several pupils dressed up in environment-specific clothing, and we also tackle the occasional stand-up-and-move-about problem solving challenge. Should you wish to see a detailed itinerary, please do not hesitate to contact us.

How much time and space do you need?

Each workshop is designed to be a full-day event, which begins after registration, fits around your usual school timings for break and lunch, and ends at whatever time you wish. Providing you have a large enough venue, we can usually accommodate up to two classes at once. Having pupils sat on PE mats in small teams in the school hall or gymnasium works particularly well.

How much does it cost?

The price of each workshop is £7 per pupil. We do not charge VAT or expenses on top of this amount, and we do not usually invoice the school until after the workshop has been delivered (unless, of course, you would specifically like us to).

To book, simply contact us with details of the type of workshop you are interested in, the probable size of the group, and your preferred date.  It is usually helpful if you can also suggest one or two back-up dates, just in case we are unable to make your first choice.

Do you charge cancellation fees?

We have recently introduced a risk-free method of booking, by removing all of our cancellation charges. What this means is that you can now book your workshop date as far in advance as you wish, and if you are later forced to cancel the workshop for any reason, there will be absolutely nothing to pay, even if the cancellation comes at the very last minute.

What about the coronavirus?

Having temporarily halted delivery of our workshops in 2020, we resumed our visits in 2021, and have been operating in schools without incident ever since. We obviously have an array of coronavirus countermeasures in place as standard nowadays, and we can happily provide you with a copy of our risk assessment, should you wish to see it.
